In response to the terrible flooding in central Texas and the fact that there is little I can do to physically help, through the end of July, I will be donating 100% of ALL ART SALES to the Red Cross (link below). (If you don't purchase art, you can still donate!)
This is personal to me as I have been a lifelong fan of the Guadalupe River.I have spent many many hours... days... weeks... enjoying the river in its quieter stages, and have seen the devastation of several large flood events since the mid-70s.
We live just a couple of miles from the river (as the crow flies) and the bridge at 281 is just a few miles away.
I feel bad for everyone affected by this latest event and I am shocked at the level of destruction and loss of life we are seeing broadcast on television and social media. This is no time for blame. I see a lot of unnecessary finger-pointing and stupidity in the comments of every post about the flooding. This is a time for us all to come together and do what we can to help.
My heart goes out to all those who have lost loved ones, especially to the parents of the children still unaccounted for. I fear the worst yet hope for the best.
I will be adding a few recent paintings to the 'Available Art' link on my page.
